Shipping Policy

ATTENTION: Holiday volume, Weather Delays, and the fact that we are a small family operation, we cannot guarantee orders. We make no holiday shipping Guarantees. WE OFFER NO GUARANTEES! We ship in the order the orders are receieved. Your order may not be shipped the day you put it in or even within a few days. We are very busy with all orders and we are doing the best we can. We will ship till we cannot anymore with holiday schedule. Thank you so much for all your business

Attention for summer: If your temperatures in your area have exceeded 85 degrees, please note that we will automatically change your shipping method from 2nd Day Air to Overnight Air, if you have not picked accordingly. Shipping will then be adjusted on your invoice sheet. Thank you for your understanding as we are trying to protect your product while the heat climbs and transit services are still experiencing delays.

We have put the majority of closer states on Ground Shipping. Please note that Ground is experiencing delays and are not guaranteed for on time delivery. Your product may arrive thawed but it is okay to refreeze. If you choose Ground, you are 100% responsible for the condition of your order when it arrives. IF you want to be more assured, please still pick the Air Shipment options. Air shipments may still arrive a day late but should not be later than that.

Also Note : As of July 2019, we will no longer be crediting back $ for non-perishable and some perishable products that come in with short or expired dates. Because of Covid, containers have been coming in months late. They will go months past the date and we have zero control over this.

Orders still go out in the order that they are recieved in. 2nd day air does not mean you will get your order 2 days after you placed it. It is the ONLY shipping method available to you besides overnight. 2nd day air means it will get you in two days of transit ONCE it ships. Order early as the delays will continue to worsen the closer we get to the holidays. Thank you 

All orders go out in the order that they come in. When you recieve your email stating your order is in "packing" that just means that we have printed the order to put it in our order pile. We do the best we can to get orders out in a timely manner.

We reserve  the right to change a shipping method from Ground to 2nd Day Air, or even Overnight Air, if we feel it is necessary to protect a perishable product such as meat, cheese and chocolates, just to name a few!

ORDERS THAT HAVE PERISHABLE (BRATS, LIVERSAUSAGE, FISH, COLDCUTS, PRETZELS, BROTCHEN, etc.) ITEMS CAN'T GO USPS!

GLASS ITEMS THAT CONTAIN LIQUIDS CANNOT GO THROUGH USPS EITHER (KRAUT/ KRAUT JUICE, SYRUP, VINIGARS, PICKLES, ETC)

We CANNOT and WILL NOT be responsible for products that spoil due to natural disasters or weather delays.

Credit will not be given for broken seals on packages due to the handling of the transit carrier. Product can be repackaged and froze again. 

The shipping ESTIMATES given at checkout are just an ESTIMATE!  We ship by EXACT WEIGHTWe ALWAYS ship the least expensive way possible using FedEx,UPS, USPS or Speedy Delivery (for Wisconsin and surrounding states only), by GROUND, 2nd Day AIR or Overnight, depending on whether or not you've ordered perishable goods and the time of year.

USPS: When ordering non-perishables the computer will estimate a price for a Commercial A box 10 x 7x 4 3/4  inches. If your product does not fit in this box, the next size is 12 x 10 1/4 x 5 inch, the price will be increased by $5-12 depending if we even have to go bigger. Or at that point we will ship Fed Ex. Example. If you order a few boxes of chocolate or more than 4 loafs of bread,  they will have to go in a bigger box to protect them and the price will increase. The shipping price will be reflected when your order is updated, not at time of purchase. We always ship by exact weight and zip code. If you need to know exact pricing when placing a order, Please note this in the special instructions that you want to be called with the exact price and we will call you.

When we have high heat across the USA, or at the starting point (Madison, WI) OR destination, we will change your preferred shipping method to 2nd Day Air, or Overnight Air, in order to insure product quality ... particularly with perishable foods such as meat, cheese and chocolates, just to name a few!

We charge your credit card after your order has been boxed up and weighed. We then change the ESTIMATED shipping charge to the ACTUAL shipping cost.

If you need an exact amount before shipping. Just specify that in the Special Order Instructions section on the check out page. We will call you!

Please Note: Neither Bavaria Sausage or FedEx delivers New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. We ship via USPS, Monday-Saturday.

Handling Charges

We have no hidden costs.

When will my order ship?

While we try to ship all orders received Monday thru Wednesday before 1pm on that same day, or the next. Orders that come in after that will go out the following Monday unless you are in a State close to Wisconsin or require

NOTICE: During SEPTEMBER thru DECEMBER, our busiest months of the year, we do our best to get orders out in the order they come in. Because the order volume is extraordinarily HUGE, please allow extra time for delivery and PLEASE order as early as possible, Snow & Ice storms as well as the volume at that time of the year will delay shipping. We will do our best to post the last day to order for Christmas delivery on our home and checkout pages.

WHEN PLANNING A PARTY ...

PLEASE - PLEASE ALLOW EXTRA DAYS FOR PRODUCT TO ARRIVE. Shipping errors and weather can delay an order.

During summer months, your products can defrost on the way to you. Our products are made fresh every week. Just put them in the freezer until ready to use.

Orders will be shipped on the next available shipping date following receipt of your order, unless a later date is specified. Please allow 1-7 days for arrival.

In General, if you order Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday we do everything possible to get your order out within those days.

If you MUST have your order shipped OVERNIGHT please place your order BEFORE 1:00 pm CST and indicate "OVERNGHT SHIPPING" in your shipping instructions during checkout, or call us at 800-733-6695.

Carriers

USPS is experiencing significant delays across their delivery network. Please consider using other carrier options that may provide a better buyer experience.

We use the following carriers to deliver our orders:

FED EX- Our Main shipper
USPS- Non- Perishables
UPS- when necessary
SPEE-DEE- Northern Wisconsin, All of Minnesota

Order Tracking

All orders that are placed on our web site will be updated with your tracking numbers and sent to you. If orders are called in, they will not be emailed to you, unless requested.

Back Orders

If we are out of an item, we might choose to hold your order till it comes in. We will notify you of this. If it is going to be more than 2 weeks, we will ship your main order and ship the back order when it comes in.  You will be charged for the additional shipping for the second shipment.

Returns, Refunds and Exchanges Policy

How To Return An Item

Your item must be in its original unused condition to be returned, unless there is a manufacturer defect; you must return the item within 15 days of your purchase.

  1. Please email us at Bavaria@bavariasausage.com or call us at 1-800-733-6695 to request a refund and or new product. We will work with you. If this was your order mistake then we will not pay to ship back, but will credit you for the product when returned
     Include in your package a signed letter stating the reason for your return and the original receipt.
  2. If we shipped you an incorrect product, please call us within 48 hours.
  1. As of July 2019, we will no longer be crediting back $ for non-perishable and some perishable products that come in with short or expired dates. Because of Covid, containers have been coming in months late.  These come from Germany this way, and it in no way effects most products. They will go months past the date. This has been a problem the last 5 years, and we have no control over this. Otherwise we will not have these products available any more.
  2. We will not be responsible for products that spoil due to natural disasters or Weather Delays.

Return Exceptions

If you received your order and products were broken, spoiled due to box being lost and then found, or opened, call us right away. We will put in a claim for the products with the shipper. Merchandise that has been worn, used, or altered will not be accepted for return or exchange.

Restocking Fee

All items are subject to a 10% restocking fee, this will be deducted from your refund. We also do not refund the original shipping and handling that you paid on the order.

Exchanges

If your clothing item is in like new condition, you may exchange your clothing item for a different size or color. You will not be subject to a restocking fee in this case, but you still will have to pay return shipping.

What Information Do We Collect?

We only collect information that we need that is related to your order. This includes your:

    Shipping Address

In addition we also collect information on your IP address, browser type, and Refer URL data. We use this data to prevent hacking attempts, help us know what web browsers people are using, and find out where our visitors are coming from so that we can improve our marketing.

Your information is only used to fill your order. We do not sell or redistribute your information to ANYONE.

Security and Storage

Only your order data billing, shipping, and order contents data is stored on our server. This information is encrypted using a Secure Sockets Layer before it is transmitted over a web server. We do not store your Credit Card data.

Cookies and Browser Information

Cookies are small files that reside on your computer and allow us to recognize you on your next visit or store your shopping cart contents. We use them only to track this information.
